What Are You Buying?

1. 43 Inch 4K TV

The Hisense 43A6KTUK is one of the best value 4K TVs you’ll find. If you’ve always wanted a 4K TV but never had the budget for one, this is a great pick. It’s also perfect for gamers who are shopping for an affordable 4K TV that is compatible with 4K consoles like the PS5 or the Xbox Series X.

At 43 inches, the Hisense 43A6KTUK is on the smaller side. But it works great for small living rooms or as a second TV for your bedroom.

Note that the Hisense smart 4K tv has a true 4K Ultra HD display. It’s not one of those budget ‘4K’ TVs that use upscaling. Upscaled 4K content is not bad, but the true 4K display on the Hisense 43A6KTUK looks a lot better and more realistic.

2. DLED Display

Another improvement of the Hisense 43A6KTUK compared to other TVs in this price range is the LED display technology it uses.

With most LED tvs, the lighting is placed around the edges of the screen. The Hisense 43A6KTUK uses a different type of LED called direct LED or DLED.

DLED displays have LED lights directly behind the screen. This provides evenly distributed lighting across the display.

The DLED display on the Hisense 43A6KTUK creates brighter pictures and better contrast when watching. It’s not quite at the level of pricier OLED or QLED TVs, but it provides a significantly better watching experience compared to traditional LED TVs.

3. Dolby Vision, HDR 10+ & HLG Technology

In addition to the 4K ultra HD resolution and the DLED panel, the Hisense 43A6KTUK also comes with HDR (high dynamic range) technology. HDR improves the viewing quality by enhancing the contrast between lighter and darker areas of whatever you are watching.

The Hisense 43” 4K TV comes with three types of HDR technology: HDR 10+, Dolby Vision and HLG.

HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision improve the look of streamed content, whether it’s from Netflix, Amazon Prime or YouTube. HLG works with broadcast FreeView content.

4. DTS Virtual:X Surround Sound

Several users say the sound quality on the Hisense 43A6KTUK is not quite at the level of some pricier TVs, but it’s still pretty good.

The Hisense TV uses DTS Virtual:X technology to create the feeling of surround sound, resulting in a more immersive experience.

If you often struggle to hear what people are saying in movies and TV shows, DTS Virtual:X also helps with that. It enhances dialogue and separates it from background noise.

5. Easy to Use Hisense VIDAA Smart OS

The Hisense 43A6KTUK is a smart TV, meaning you don’t need an aerial or set top box to use it (you’ll only need an aerial for FreeView).

Once you link it to your home WiFi, you can stream your favourite TV shows, movies and music via various apps.

The VIDAA operating system in the Hisense TV is easy to navigate. It comes with most of the popular entertainment apps already installed including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, YouTube, FreeView Play and others.

6. Voice Remote Control

The included smart remote offers easy voice control. So instead of manually scrolling between apps, you can simply say stop, rewind and other commands.

The Hisense 43A6KTUK also comes with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. You can interact with either virtual assistant using the voice remote, whether it’s asking about the weather or turning off smart lights.

How Easy Is It To Set Up?

Setting up the Hisense 43A6KTUK smart 4K TV is fairly easy. It comes with a stand, so you don’t need to do any installation. If you prefer mounting it, you’ll need to buy a mounting kit separately and find a pro to mount it for you.

Once you set it up and plug it in, connect it to your WiFi then follow the onscreen instructions to start watching.

Note: The power cable is 1.2m long. If you are setting it up in the bedroom, check that there is a power outlet within reach of where you plan to put the TV.

What Accessories Are Included?

The Hisense 43A6KTUK comes with a TV stand, a smart voice remote control (with batteries included), a power cable and a user manual.

If you want to mount the TV, you’ll need to buy a 200 x 300 bracket separately. If you want to watch FreeView content, you’ll need an aerial. The Hisense TV already has a built-in Freeview HD digital tuner, so you don’t need a set top box, only the aerial.

Pros

  • Affordable 4K TV.
  • HDR technology.
  • Decent sound quality.
  • Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
  • Easy to use voice remote control.

Cons

  • The 43” screen is a bit small for large living rooms – works best in smaller spaces like the bedroom.

Final Thoughts

Features you’d normally find in high-end TVs are increasingly appearing in lower budget televisions. The Hisense 43A6KTUK is one of the next examples of this.

It’s a great choice if you are shopping for a pocket-friendly true 4K smart TV with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and good surround sound quality.
