What Are You Buying?

1. Space-Saving L-Shaped Desk

If you only have a little space to spare, an L-shaped desk is one of the best space-saving options. The Goethe corner desk slots conveniently into a corner, giving you lots of surface area without taking up a lot of space.

The Goethe L-shaped desk is fairly compact, so it should fit easily in a bedroom (makes for an excellent kids study desk), home office or the corner of your living room.

When fully assembled, the L measures 117cm on the longer side and 90cm long on the short side. So it should fit easily even in a small corner.

The top of the desk is 45cm deep. That’s a bit narrower than a standard size desk, but it’s big enough for studying or work. It comfortably fits multiple books, a laptop and even a desktop. The L design even lets you have a second screen.

As for height, the Goethe desk is 76.2cm high.

2. Multiple Storage Options

One of the things we love about the Goethe L-shape desk is how practical it is. In addition to the generous working area on top, it also comes with multiple storage options.

The longer section of the L is bare underneath to leave space for your legs. The other section is where the storage is. There are four options: a large cabinet with a hinged door, a slide out drawer and two open compartments.

This gives you the flexibility to store different items. The drawer is great for small things like stationery and office supplies, the cabinet can hold larger items like folders and books, and the two open compartments are convenient for storing anything you need easy access to like a printer or documents.

The shelf dividing the open compartments is adjustable, so you can make one of the compartments larger or smaller depending on your needs.

3. Left or Right Configuration

The Goethe L-shape desk is designed to be assembled in two configurations. You can have the storage section (the one with the drawers and compartments) either on the right or left side of the main desk.

This lets you configure the desk to adapt to your space and needs. The desk comes with two sets of assembly instructions for either type of configuration.

4. Sturdy and Durable Wooden Desk

Most customers say the Goethe desk feels very sturdy and many have used it for years without any issues. The desk is made from particle board with strong mortise and tenon joinery.

Mortise and tenon joints are some of the strongest in woodworking and can last for decades or centuries.

The desk has a 40kg weight capacity, so it should be able to safely hold up quite a bit of stuff including a computer, printer, books and more. The drawer has a 5kg capacity.

How Easy Is It to Assemble?

The Goethe L-shape desk arrives flat packed, so you’ll need to put it together. Assembling the desk is not that difficult (the instructions are clear and easy to follow), but it takes time.

Depending on how many people are involved (the manufacturer recommends at least 2 people) and your DIY skills, assembly takes between 1 and 3 hours. Take your time and make sure you do it well. There are lots of parts and it’s important you put each in the right place.

By the way, all you need to assemble the desk is a screwdriver. An electric screwdriver will help you work faster.

Note: Remember to choose which configuration you want before you begin assembly. There are instructions for right and left configuration.

What Accessories Are Included?

Other than the part you need to assemble the desk, no other accessories are included. The only you’ll need is a screwdriver to put the desk together.

Pros

  • Sturdy and durable desk.

Anything Else You Should Know?

We forgot to mention that the Goethe corner desk comes with a cable management system. It’s just holes in the panels but they come in handy for passing cables through.

They make it easy to set up a desktop computer, printer, laptop and other gadgets on the desk.

Conclusion

The Zipcode Design Goethe L-shape desk is a great choice if you are looking for a highly practical and versatile work or study desk for a small space.

It’s really well made, relatively easy to assemble, offers a generous working surface and comes with convenient storage options.
